Machine Operator

E and J Contractors are looking for experienced Machine operators to join our team.  E and J Contractors have a variety of current and upcoming projects throughout the Taupo region and are looking to grow our team to operate a range of machinery from 1.7T – 21T excavators. Including Machine Control (GPS) excavators.

To be successful in this role you need to be:

  • Able to trench safely and to a grade

  • WTR’s Licenses

  • Carry out daily checks and greasing of machines

  • Able to trench, backfill & dig within trench shields safely

  • Work Safely around underground services (power, fibre-optic, Gas, sewer, water & storm water)

  • Reliable and Punctual

  • Full Class 1 Drivers License (Class 2 License is an advantage)

  • Great work ethic & committed to safe work practices

  • Works well in a team

  • Drug Free

  • Fit and Healthy

Drainlayers

E and J Contractors are looking for experienced drainlayers & drainage labourers to join our team. If you enjoy working outdoors and being part of a team, this is your opportunity to join a well-established drainage company in Taupo.  

To be successful in this role you need to be:

  • Experienced in laying residential &/or civil drainage

  • Reliable and Punctual

  • Ability to interpret plans

  • Laying pipes to the correct gradient and heights

  • Full Class 1 Drivers License (Class 2 License is an advantage)

  • Great work ethic & committed to safe work practices

  • Works well in a team

  • Drug Free

  • Competent on Machinery

Foreman

As we continue to grow our capabilities within the Drainage/ Civil construction industry, we are looking for experienced drainage Foreman to join our team and on multiple projects throughout the Taupo region.

To be successful in this role you need to be:

  • Support the site Project manager

  • Be responsible for overseeing the onsite operations

  • Ensuring that safety requirements and safe practices are being met

  • Carry out toolbox meetings, risk assessments, plant checks, liaison with subcontractors, onsite training, staff motivation and quality control.

  • Monitor workloads to ensure an even distribution of work and to provide maximum utilization of resources and machinery

  • Reliable and Punctual

  • Full Class 1 Drivers License (Class 2 License is an advantage)

  • Great work ethic, communication skills & committed to safe work practices

  • Works well in a team

  • Drug Free

  • Fit and Healthy
